Alaya Verde is a boutique retreat sanctuary set within 42 acres of protected native forest in the heart of Tewantin National Park on Australia’s Sunshine Coast. Not a resort, not a hotel, but a secluded hinterland haven of renewal, stewarded by the same family since 1995.

Alaya Verde Hosts + Owners
More than a traditional bed and breakfast, Alaya Verde is where to reconnect with what matters most. Relax into the grounded luxury of our two pavilions, experience the iconic wildlife native to our subtropical land, and enjoy fresh organic produce from our own orchard.
Some of Australia’s most iconic wild animals and birds make Alaya Verde their home, including kangaroos, koalas, parakeets, peacocks, and kingfishers. Watch them up close from your private pavilion and then, when night falls, turn your gaze skywards to take in the moon and stars.

Breakfast at Alaya Verde is organic, seasonal, and features what we harvest from our own regenerated land, including our 35 species of fruiting tree. Other fresh ingredients are sourced locally, and all our nourishing meals are prepared to order and served to you with pride.

Alaya Verde is perfectly located for exploring the best of both worlds: the protected peace, tranquility, and natural beauty of Queensland’s Tewantin National Park and – just 11kms and a 25-minute drive away – the coastal lakes, upper Noosa river, and the Sunshine Coast beaches.

Nestled within Alaya Verde’s subtropical gardens and forest, our two adults-only en-suite pavilions are thoughtfully designed to offer privacy, comfort, relaxation, and a deep connection with nature. Each brings its own unique character, underpinned by our hallmark grounded luxury and sense of wellbeing. Perfect for both couples and solo travellers, for romantic getaways, celebrations, or simply time to reset, restore, and explore. All Alaya Verde guests enjoy complimentary access to our shared living space, a light-filled pavilion featuring a gourmet kitchen, communal dining, and the warmth of a wood fire. Please review the Noosa Council’s Code of Conduct Home hosted accommodation.

We are Duncan Hogg and Gina Carruthers, a husband-and-wife team who settled in the Noosa Hinterland in 1995, drawn by the natural beauty, space and quiet of this remarkable part of Queensland.
Set within 42 acres of protected subtropical forest, Alaya Verde grew from our desire to create a beautiful home that feels deeply connected to its surroundings – peaceful, private, and wonderfully removed from the busyness of everyday life.
Today – along with our dog Mira – we share that home with our guests. With just two guest suites, Alaya Verde remains deliberately intimate. There is space to slow down, enjoy the forest, linger over breakfast, relax by the pool, or simply appreciate having nowhere you need to be.
For us, genuine hospitality is about more than providing a beautiful room. We want Alaya Verde to feel relaxed and personal, somewhere you can settle in, feel at home, and experience a quieter side of the Noosa Hinterland.
Alaya Verde is also home to our sister business, Health in Perspective, which offers dedicated wellbeing retreats separately from our B&B stays.
The property is beautiful. The Blue Suite is large and well furnished with every amenity you could wish for. I spent my days swimming lengths in the generous pool, relaxing in the hot tub, and watching the many kangaroos munching on their grass. Don’t forget to book the three-course meal – the food was delicious. The treatments were also excellent!

Our three-night stay at Alaya Verde was absolutely fabulous. This place is outstanding in every detail. Fully-hosted B&Bs just don’t get any better and their unique forest location creates a very, very special secluded atmosphere. What makes Alaya Verde so special is the hosts, Duncan and Gina. We can’t speak highly enough of them and, from experience, appreciate the input required to make this such a special stay.

A piece of paradise, truly timeless. The place is incredible: a beautiful and welcoming house in the heart of nature, with kangaroos wandering through the garden right in front of your room. The owners are lovely people, very friendly, welcoming, and dedicated to making your stay special. Thank you for this amazing experience. I’ll definitely come back!
